Strikeout - no males. Need to re-open the vault.

That being said.. what’s peoples opinions on plants that don’t show Male/Female until a week or so in flower?

In my opinion, I select the most prominent, but not so agressively pre-flowering that it appears to be flowering.
But curious as to whatcha think.

To save the run, going to do a late poli.

Vanilla Bread & Berry Pie

The Vanilla Berry Pie male was select out of 38 plants. We might be the only ones with it

2 plants from that batch were kept for the road.

The male is what I would define as exotic. I took detailed shots of him along the way. It looks like he is the nominee so I will include those shots here as we flower him out as a cutting to use ~

So here is the breakdown of our Vanilla Berry Male -

Selected for the thick hairy stalks in early stages. Early stink, and also a sheen of trichomes on the small leaves. Under cool weather, no cal/mag lockout, just kept trucking. Extremely symetrical in branching, and extremely reselient to training & topping.

Looks like we might get a week 5 polination but this round is going mostly to smoke. Our timing got jammed up with the strikeout on Lambs males.

It's not letting me attach more pics. So breaking the post up into a few..
One thing I enjoy doing is trying to keep the canopy even. There are a few more plants in there, not tropical sativas. So I work the sativas as best I can to even things out. Healthy plants respond better.

Also was mentioned earlier the corelation in the color of the stems to the colors of the pistilations/ flowers. If that was a pre-cursor, or if it was genetic. I am not remembering the question exactly but here are some cool detail shots. Seemingly, the one that stayed the most green, has a yellowish (which was undesirable to me at first) and then subtle pink pistilation. The detail shots are of #02, and she has whiter pistil production no signs of pink.

The two plants that were taken out of the selection pool were nice, but not as nice as these. They all seemingly 'glisten' and 'sparkle'. I know, most all of the plants have that shine when the trichomes are going and the lights are at the right angle. But you need to understand that this isn't that typical sheen. It's glaring. Not the frostiest, but she is sticker than some more frosty plants. #03 is the fatter leaf pheno we noted in veg. The flowers are much more bulbous and puffy than the others that were narrow and stacking like. I assume she is going to stack and protrude outward like the others - after she is done puffer fishing. It is a beautiful plant. Just curious as why it had a bit more wider leaves than the others.
