Elon Musk buys Twitter.

The headlines scream:
Twitter is dead.
Magahead wingnut membership rockets.
Millions flee and finally breath free.

..well if Twitter is now an evil pariah , I'll give it a shot
So I broke my cherry and got a Twitter account today.

Now what? I mean besides trolling the wingnuts.
Well I can read the risqué content now, I think.

New to me too. Never Facebook, don't know what Snapchat is.
Today got emails from tweeter so I guess I'm going to have to find settings and figure out how to stop that.

Only one I ever visit is Reddit. Google has gotten to be shit at locating answers to questions...Reddit is often better.

i've always thought twitter was too limiting with their 160-character post limit,
and i didn't even have a clue that it had been changed years ago, until fairly recently.
but i'm still not into any of the above sites.
i only used Facebook to communicate with my sister and father, but they've both passed away.
FB seemed so pathetic in that everyone was sickeningly nice,
always telling people whatever compliments they wanted to hear, even if far from the truth.
a member there can post the ugliest image, or the most horrible comment,
and get all kind and supportive replies, which are obviously untrue,
like they would tell a 600lb person that they look thin...
or someone with horribly botched plastic surgery that they look beautiful,
more like some kind of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood than reality.

I've never been interested in Twitter or any of those others although I've been on FB for like a decade.

It mostly sucks really bad, but it does have some redeeming value. Once you get through all of the irrelevant, irritating sponsored ads, bs false wingnut repetitive memes and posts, ridiculous policing, ... you can actually keep in touch with who you want to. Folks you might not have otherwise ever heard from again.

Yes, sometimes it ends up that it would have been better not to re-engage, but like everything else ya gotta take the bad with the good. I've had no less than a couple dozen peeps "un-friend" me over the years, mostly back in the beginning, for my politics & scrutiny of religion. On the other hand, it allows for sharing and keeping in touch with those that are Worth it.

I've always use Twitter without an account because it gave me real-time information such as the protests in Portland and DC.
I also use GAB, the White Wingnut site, as Frenchycannoli.

I only have a Facebook account….Facebook is what you make of it….I’ve joined groups for pretty much any hobby I have or things I want to learn about.

It's taking a while and not a done deal yet but... the patient is on life support.

Backstory Musk came in and started fireing anybody who was worth shit, told everybody else: pledge to go "hardcore" or 3 months severance pay. Deadline today. and then mistakenly locked everybody out of the offices after ordering them all to show up to work.

He informed the Employees twitter it's likely to go bankrupt. After he walked in on day one carrying a sink. A ordinary kitchen porcelain sink.
Assumption here now it was a symbol he came in to sink the company. For laughz?

But hey people are still Tweeting, soooo..... maybe a new CEO and Trump will be back.

You ever hear the old saying “throw everything at it including the sink?”

People just really don’t understand he’s trying but it’s not what it’s cracked up to it and it’s a learn as you go while under a constant microscope.

Like when OJ and I first started mpg and the damn site was getting posts before and members before we even had a chance to skin the site.

I wouldn’t want to be Elon Musk for all his money. Like living the Truman Show.
