Thanks for all the suggestions!
If I got enough cold nights, I'd certainly put in Arkansas Blacks(my favorite apple), but that won't work.
Fruit trees tend to attract yellow-jackets(allergic) and make a mess.
I've had apples and pears before.
I'm not interested in pruning,spraying, etc...

I'll look into the 'Sugar Time' crab-apple and I'd forgotten about cherries.
Got a 'name' for that flowering 'quince'?

FYI-round here, if ya wanna make money from a tree plantation, ya grow pines.
Just replanted hundreds of acres in loblolly 's and I wonder if I'll be alive to harvest them...

Got a 'name' for that flowering 'quince'?
That the name always I’ve used/heard, plenty examples on a google search, Chaenomeles is the genus. If pruning not yer bag, forget the quince.


Ahh here is a pic of my quince's flowers a spring or two ago.
