Changing Avatar (SOLVED...maybe)

I can only choosea an avatar that is already are in use. The only members Avatar that I can't see/use is: intrinsic, Barneshenry and deran.

How did barneshenry change his.

Is there a way to I upload a properly resize pic for my avatar?

Sorry, but an admin avatar is not allowed for use by non-admin, due to possible info security breach involving an unsuspecting member. Try to re-upload your desired avy now. If it still doesn't work, message me, and I may be able to help another way.

With all respect munchy. That is exactly why he picked that icon to draw attention to the problem of picking Avies Not nefarious. Why is that Gallery even there???

Maybe I should mention, I created that gif to use on my SmokesBreak account. It never was official. If you look closely you'll see I did a bad job filling in the background around the Leaf edges and the sparkling on the leaf Is another artifact error I couldn't fix. Cuz smokes original Leaf icon was a PNG. I did one for Smooty too, but smokes deleted it.

Not that it matters,who's it is.


Fwiw smokebreaks let me keep the SmokesBreak parody account, with a few others, after a clean up. I Assume as long used it just for fun. Which I have, at least I like to think so.

I totally understand your point Munchy and I wouldn't normally use it for that reason. Henceforth won't. I have other smokebreak parody avies. Remember the mustard and ketchup. Well.. better ones.

The problem of picking avys is probably just a Newly Registered Member thing, so I graduated Ralphie early. I knew that admin avy decision might've struck a nerve, and that's why I explained my reasoning. I recalled that it was a security hazard issue which came up years ago. I'm glad you understand. and I would love to see those avy's like ketchup and mustard and safe sex again. so please break em on out.

No I don't think it's a newbie thing. Older accounts are affected the same way . Makes no sense to offer personal avatars that are already in use. Noobs or otherwise imho.


Yeah I can only choose avatars that other people already using.
I think the reset button is what does it, but doesn't work, no action.

Anyway if you could please install this one for me.

Okay I am dense. I don't think i have an ACP , I have a user control panel. And in two of the sub panels: Profile. Edit account settings.
There is an edit Avatar tab.
There are three choices:
Display gallery
Reset
Post-it.

Tell me oldjoints can you change your avy, do you see the gallery with other users avies.

I haven’t tried to change my avatar but there is no upload function to upload new avies, at one time there was as I made my current avie and used the upload feature at that time.
The link in my previous post is the route to take on phpbb to turn the function on to upload avatars for users.
It may be disabled for security reasons.
I posted the route to help those that can to check there.

First everyone can view my karma.
Now you tell me everybody else can upload a new avatar yet i can't. And I don't think it's cuz I'm stupid.
