Stuff to watch on mushrooms...
...aka... Bob's trippin'

I think we're all aware of the wonders of tripping in nature...so many visuals to amaze us.
But, the weather is not always conducive...and sometimes we might not feel like tripping outside.
Many times I feel like grabbing a comfy couch, turning off the lights, and finding something stimulating to watch on the TV.
There are many qualities that contribute to an enjoyable experience, but overall what I look for is something surreal.

I'll start with one that lays down a pretty good example of what I'm referring to...
...good music, sharp and high contrast color, stellar cinematography, a storyline that steps outside reality...

Sucker Punch (2011)

I kind of use that as a benchmark, both as to how and when it was made.
Generally speaking, older productions don't have the same quality as modern techniques afford.
You can still find older gems, they're just not as frequent.
On a recent trip I was surprised how well this one held up...

The Fifth Element (1997)

While there are certainly more goldies out there, newer ones are more prevalent.
Technical production quality has increased significantly, and the cost has dropped.
You no longer need huge box office success to garner a good surrealistic experience...

I remember one time years ago, tripping on some good cid ended up alone at my house. Started out watching the Song Remains the Same and then was really getting into the Wild Kingdom Lions of Africa documentary.
As far as trippy movies lately...Mandy is very trippy...

I once watched all the episodes of gumby while I was trippin balls

...on the use of neon and colored lighting...

Usually I'm just looking for something that's visually stimulating...
...I'm not really looking for an intricate, in-depth story line...
...and definitely no sub-titles. Reading is more work than I want to do.
Trippy visuals like neon and colored lighting are often enough for me...

Yeah I don't typically try to watch movies or show while tripping. Last time I tripped on shrooms I put on a Doors dvd and I was good to go!

is What Dreams May Come with Robin Williams.
I choose it due to being so colorful, but I was overwhelmed by it's sadness.

criteria perfectly. Some of the scenes & the way the lights shined through Lily's wardrobe in one scene in particular, was mesmorising.

...they just have that feel to the visuals.
They don't look like live action...
...they look more like a fluid comic book...

Even though it's mostly black & white, the color highlights really set things off.
The sequel wasn't quite as good as the first, but still right up there...

This is one of my favorite movies...tripping or not...

I remember the vary 1st time I tripped. Only did a half a tab of blotter as I was a little scared. Ended up rolling on the floor watching Benny Hill on TV.

A couple of flicks I can remember watching while tripping include Up In Smoke (saw it in the theater once before tripping to it on tv)
Easy Rider, it has a nice tripping scene. Pink Floyd's the Wall...

Here's a crazy movie from 1983 noy sure how well it fits, visuals are dated but it's the spirit & vibe of this one that I feel would be tolerable while peaking

Any number of Burton's movies would probably be good to trip to...

Was my reasoning for the thread...so when folks find themselves in the mood, they can just scroll thru and go, when they find something they want to see. I can usually find a source for most, but all of the movies/tv shows can be googled to see what paid services they are available on as well.

Live action of anime...

Access to a paid service this weekend afforded me the opportunity to find another great show.
I've been aware of the anime series and movie, as they are quite popular...

The first movie, Suicide Squad, really isn't a very good tripping movie...
...too dark and grey, not enough color...not enough Harley.

I thought Woody was good in Cheers...a lot like Gary Burghoff as "Radar" in M*A*S*H...neither were anything like their character in real life.

Fuck TV on mushrooms….I once watched the show Moonshiners on mushrooms, now when I watch it sober their faces still look weird and melty.

So I've had some movies I've been wanting to see, and aboot 2.5g to set me up.
I started the first one before dosing...The Flash (2023).
Sure, it was colorful, and had some trippy CGI scenes...
...but the storyline and writing were terrible.
I was cringing throughout the whole movie.
Not recommended...tripping or sober.


The next one was a winner.
I only watched Vol 3, but I recommend the whole series...
