There are three ways to send an image to Planetganja.
Attachments - BBcode Image Links - the Gallery.
Lets assume that you are making an incredible grow post and you want to display a picture.
First, figure out where the picture is being stored. If it is on your computer, make sure you know the file name and folder name where the image resides.
you will need to UPLOAD this pic If it is on your photo storage web site, you may want to open the image file in a separate browser window.
you can link this with a BBcode image tag If it is on another website, and you saw it there and wanted to put it here.

ATTACHMENTS
Just below the textbox area you will see a tab labelled "upload attachments".
Click on that tab to bring up the attachments area
Now, click on the button labelled "Browse"
This will pop up a window containing your computer files
use this window to find the image to upload
Try to keep the images at a dimensional size to diplay fullsized within 1024 wide
This will prevent viewers from having to scroll the screen to view the pic.
Unless of course you need someone to take a close look at a deformity in a plant, then
KNOCK yourself out with image dimensions.

double click on the file name and the pop up window will close and the file name will appear in the text box just before the browse button
Now, click the button labelled "add file"

a box may pop up or may not
it will close by itself, but also has a "close window" link which may be clicked at any time.
Once the file upload is complete, the filename will appear in a box called
"Post Attachments"
There is white box which you can type a comment about the photo which will display with the pic
the button labelled "place inline" will put the image in the post at whichever point the cursor exists.
it will look like this
you can copy, cut and paste that anywhere in the post to move the display IF the file is let's say at tinypic.com where you keep your photos on the net.
Open the photo on tiny pic and find the URL or internet address of the pic.
On tiny pic you can click and image and it will display, you can then click on RAW IMAGE and the pic will appear on a blank page w/ just the pic.
if you look in the browser address bar, you'll see the URL, which will look like this.
http://i42.tinypic.com/169ncr5.jpg Go back to the post your editing for PG, and notice the BBcode buttons.
click on the button labelled IMG and this will appear in the text box.
If the image is on another webpage like a news website, just right click on the image and cick on "copy image location" which is the URL or click on Properties and find the URL and copy it to your clipboard (highlight text with left click and hold -right click - copy)
Once you have the url of the photo-(not the web page, but the photo file's URL
Place it between the BBcode img tags as described above.
Finish editing the post and submit.

We now have a NEW bbcode button titled "image" you will no longer see the "img" tag.
This is because we have a new image display feature.
Newly attached and linked images have a much more pleasant display

on the first attachment in a thread, if the pic is clicked a slideshow and zoom buttons appear.
play with them to gain understanding.
image tags in bbcode do not display as a slideshow, but have a zoom icon in the lower left corner.
The image which is framed and labelled attachment is a file that was NOT placed in the post with the PLACE INLINE option.
